DID YOU KNOW...?
Each of the kids is representing one of the three main opinions held by everyday Icelanders: Firm Belief in the Huldufolk, Uncertainty, and Non-belief. It's worth noting, however, that those who do not believe are also quick to note they don't disrespect the Huldufolk. No matter your level of belief in the Huldufolk it seems to be widely accepted showing them disrespect is a huge no-no.
Belief in the Huldufolk is most pronounced in the countryside, where people are subject to the elements and forces of nature more than those in the cities.
"Just Caitlin" WILL BE ON BREAK NEXT WEEK! This strip marks the halfway point for the Iceland story arc, and I need to finish inking the last two pages of this arc, as well as take a deep breath. This has been fun but it's a LOT of work and I want to finish strong. ^_^
